While the act of surfing and the process of taking photographs vary greatly in the experience of physical sensations, I would argue that the acts do have a defining common point. Both pursuits require an attitude of bare attention and a high level of mindfulness. It is through this mental perspective that we truly open up to the continually changing qualities of our experiences, whether it be the ever changing dynamic experience of a wave-riding or the "seeing" of the subtle qualities of our visual landscape.

On February 6th at 7pm we will be having an all Empire art show. Thats right, all of your favorite tattoo artists from Empire will be showing off their artistic skills!! So you should come down, have some beers and check out what your tattoo artist does with what little spare time they have.
On December 5th at 7pm we will be hosting another group photography
show here at Empire. Its pretty self-explanatory. So come down and
check out someawesome photos by a bunch of talented artists.
We have been drinking 40 ounces for a while now and the empties have really been building up. So we decided to ask artists from all over the world to help us do something creative with them. 40 ounces of art is the result. Come down on October 3rd at 7pm and check out the results.
*I just want to thank all of the artists that participated in this show and all of the people that came down to show support. This was by far one of the best show we have ever had here at Empire! If you missed the party to bad, but the art work will be up here until the end of November. You HAVE to stop by and check out all of the amazing art work that is hanging here. This was our biggest show so far. We handed out a bunch of identical medical models of human skulls to about 70-80 artists from all over the world. We got back some pretty amazing stuff. You can check out all of the skulls in the coffee table book we put out for the show (go to our merch page for more info).
Empire has had many art shows in the past most of them were pretty crazy drunkin partys. I don't have exact dates flyers or to many pictures. So I am making this entry Miscelenious Art Shows just to have some random old photos of old shows. If you have any good ones send them to me.
